Tape London

An amazing opportunity to assist the Ausiovisual team at one of London’s most exclusive and exciting clubs – Tape London in Mayfair. A regular haunt of international superstars like Drake, Future and Will.I.Am, Tape London is one of the capital’s most prestigious clubs. The position is a three-month internship for three nights a week but the club have specified a need to be flexible. Aux Studios

Aux Studios in Shoreditch is a professional studio working in electronic music composition, production and stem mixing for DJs, advertising and library music. This is an incredible opportunity to get real hands-on experience and learn several facets of the industry. What We’re Offering

The chance to gain first hand experience in a Shoreditch music production studio, learning production and mixing skills from award winning artists and labels including Mark Knight, Prok & Fitch, Toolroom and Defected.

What We’re Looking For

An enthusiastic, open-minded person with a strong interest in electronic music production and social media to assist with the day to day running of the studio.

Initially, we are looking for two or three days a week for three months, with potential for a long-term role. Days of the week can be flexible.

The candidate must

– be proficient in using Cubase
– have up to date knowledge of plugins, music styles, Beatport genres, synths and sounds
– have a good understanding of DJing and nightclubs
– be able to use some kind of graphics software eg. Photoshop
– understand basic theory and applied harmony
– have an Apple Macbook Pro or similar spec laptop
– be punctual
– understand basic drum programming
– have at least some voice recording experience

Non-essential skills but good to have

– active DJ
– be able to play the guitar
– graded musician
– web design skills
– knowledge of contracts

Duties

– Exporting session stems
– Preparing sessions
– Tuning vocals
– Composing, producing and mixing library music
– Registering music with PRS and PPL
– Social media content
– Maintaining websites
– Recording vocal sessions
– Creating Spotify edits from stems
– Keeping the studios in tidy order
– Various admin tasks
– Attending events

International Licensing / Product Internship at Armada Music

Amsterdam-based mega-label and label services company Armada Music are looking for a new intern at their London office. Home to the likes of Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Fedde Le Grand, Kevin Saunderson, they are a massive player in dance music. The main thing they are looking for is passion, but you can find the full requirements below.

INTERN (M/F) INTERNATIONAL LICENSING / PRODUCT (32+ hours per week)

Your internship will consist of assisting the international licensing team across all activities.

What will you be doing (exactly)?
– You will prepare promotional mail-outs;
– You will maintain our contact list;
– You will deliver masters, videos and promotional assets to (our) label partners;
– You will keep track of the (international) results of our releases;
– You will keep our label partners and product team up to date on these results;
– You will provide our product team with international input for their marketing plans;
– You will map out territories and look for potential new label partners;
– You will handle the day-to-day administrative tasks. This includes invoicing, keeping track of expired licenses, updating spreadsheets, etc.

Who is the person we’re looking for?
– You have a strong affinity with (dance) music;
– You are proactive, organized and able to work efficiently;
– You are enthusiastic, flexible and able to cope with/thrive under pressure;
– You live in London;
– You are available from March 1st for a period of at least three months. The start date can be discussed.

What can we offer you in return?
– You will be joining the ranks of a young and dynamic team;
– This internship boils down to a unique opportunity for you to learn (more) about the international licensing / product department of one of the biggest independent dance music labels in the world.
– Though this is an unpaid internship, your expenses (travel and lunch) will be covered.

Soundscape Agency is looking for an Intern.

The team over at Soundscape Agency is looking for an intern to start as soon as possible! 

Soundscape works closely with brands aligning their identity to music either with specially curated music, or bespoke compositions. They also arrange interesting music partnerships and experiences for their brands/clients as part of their overall creative strategy and brand identity. 

The role on offer would involve helping manage the day to day, with applicants being involved in a little bit of everything from finance and project management to music sync. This is a great opportunity for those with an interest in the field of music and production, the candidate will glean invaluable experience in an agency world dealing with clients on a daily basis. Not only that, there is also an opportunity to work on compositions with/for brands and adverts in their studio and there is the potential for full-time work at the end of the internship.

Student Opportunities: Paul Institute (Jai Paul) Sound Engineer Internship & more

Paul Institute (Jai Paul, Anup Paul, Muz Azar) are looking for a Sound Engineer Intern.

The Paul Institute is a new music company founded in London by Jai Paul, Anup Paul and Muz Azar. In March 2016 the company released A.K Paul’s debut single ‘Landcruisin’ to acclaim. Now, moving forward, the institute is looking to cultivate a collaborative group of arts and technology enthusiasts committed to taking their members through new adventures in music.

The role on offer is a Sound Engineer Intern. Candidates must be bright, friendly and well organised. You will need to be well versed in all different aspects of recording, from digital multitrack recording using Logic/Pro Tools to working in live sessions recording guitars and drums etc. You will also be required to have technical expertise to know which pieces of equipment are best for a particular purpose and how to operate such equipment. Computer skills to manipulate sound editing and controlling software, as well as the ability to identify the proper pitch, volume or effects for each sound in the recording.

Some of the activities you could be involved in include:

  • Planning and assisting recording sessions.
  • Setting up mics and other equipment from vocal recordings to drum sessions.
  • Working with software and outboard effects and processors.
  • Operating recording equipment and adding effects.
  • Mixing tracks to produce a final ‘master’ track.
  • Maintenence of studio and equipment, ability to solder, test and fix faults will be valuable.
  • Optimisation of studio computer equipment for latency, cpu efficiency etc.
  • Logging or recordings and general organisation of computer files and samples in the studio archives.

This is an entry level job paid at internship & apprentice salaries, covering all typical expenses. This position provides a great oppportunity to make new connections and gain some vaulable insight into the music and creative industries at the highest levels. The internship will last for a trial period of 3 moths with potential for a more permanent position after.

Right Chord Music are looking for regular contributors to come up with creative content for their music platform. Since their foundation the RCM blog has reached music fans in over 185 different countries and currently attracts over 6,000 views per calendar month. They want to know what’s happening in your country, your city or your town. The best new bands, the best live shows or the issues and challenges impacting your music scene.

There are only two rules:

1. They only want to hear about unsigned and self released, artists – no signed artists, they have the backing of a label and RCM prefer to focus energy on artists that don’t have this support.

2. Quality, nothing is published on RCM that looks or sounds unprofessional. If you wouldn’t share it on your Facebook or Instagram then why would they? Their mission is to prove you don’t have to be signed to produce incredible music, so maintaining standards is everything. to us.

Your contributions can be as frequent, or infrequent as you want. You don’t have to be just restricted to written articles, photos or a video journal would be pretty exciting.
